Patricia Hefti, a retired homeschooling parent, holds a bachelor of science in microbiology, a master of education, and an elementary education teaching certificate, all from Texas A&M University. Her greatest joy, however, is knowing her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She has taught elementary school children at The Lighthouse International Outreach Center church school and worked in the TAMU Biology Department and in the Medical School’s biochemistry/biophysics department as a laboratory technician. For twenty years, Patricia served as the children’s pastor at local churches. Mother to two grown daughters, Rebekah and Candace, and grandmother to Caroline, Patricia lives on a ranch in Bryan, Texas, with her strong, hard-working husband, Roy.
Shane Scofield is a native of Bryan, Texas and lived in the SOS Men’s Home from 2005 to 2008. During this time, he recovered from drug addiction, and began to address the inner wounds and trauma he had experienced due to his parents’ divorce. Shane found healing through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He began to draw portraits of people and started receiving commissions for his work. His pencil portrait artistry soon developed into producing oil portraits, and eventually he began painting murals. You can find Shane’s murals at the Texas Civil War Museum, and in many restaurants and businesses across the states of Texas and Oklahoma. He has painted for many nonprofit organizations as well. With proceeds from his art business, Shane has donated to help support several overseas missions. Shane is currently working on finishing his chemical dependency counseling license at TSTC. He plans to open a sober living house, which would be a discipleship house for men wanting to recover from their hurts, habits, and hangups. He signs his artwork, “Israel,” because this name was given to him as a prophetic, spiritual name. It means, ”One who has wrestled with God, but God has prevailed.”
Save Our Streets Ministries was founded by Mr. JJ Ramirez in November 1993. JJ was a well-known drug dealer, then a drug user, who averaged $200 per day on his crack cocaine habit until he had a radical encounter with Jesus Christ. Now he and his wife, Mary Helen, work tirelessly to fulfill their God-given mandate to rescue, restore, and release people just like themselves from addiction and dysfunctional relationships into God's perfect plan for their lives.
